Meet our Pastor, Tony Simpson
Tony was born and raised in York. He lived there until 1996 when he moved to Birmingham to take a Sports Science degree at the University of Birmingham. During the course he met Anna, who is now his wife, and they began to attend Bournville Evangelical Church in 2004. Later that year through hearing the good news of Jesus Christ they both repented of their sin and turned to Him as their Lord and Saviour. In February 2005 they were married and baptised on the same weekend. Since then they have followed Christ, serving the church and local community in various ways, including youth and children's work. Tony spent three years training for pastoral ministry at the London Theological Seminary and serving as Assistant Pastor at Highgate Road Chapel. He took up the role of Pastor at Aycliffe Evangelical Church on 1 Sept 2012. Tony and Anna have three young children, Naomi, Joel and Isaac.
VISITING THE NORTH EAST ON HOLIDAY?
If you are anywhere near Newton Aycliffe (part way between Darlington and Durham) why not join us for worship. You will enjoy warm fellowship with Christian people. We are a very welcoming church and every service is followed by refreshments so we don't all rush away at the end. We enjoy chatting with each other and with visitors.

(Posted 9 September 2014) Pathfinders (primary age) and CY (lower secondary age) children's clubs restarted last Friday. 25 at Pathfinders was a very encouraging start to the term with some bringing friends for the first time.
Comings and goings
(Posted 19 February 2014) At the very end of January we said a sad farewell to John and Tricia Rubens as they retired to Cornwall. John was pastor from 1997 to 2012, and after retiring continued as an elder until last month. We wish them a happy retirement. Within days of thier departure we were then delighted to rejoice with Tony (our pastor) and Anna on the birth of their third child, Isaac, on 6 February.
